Details

Keisha Thompson is a Manchester-based writer, performance-artist and producer, currently the young people’s producer and manager at Contact Young People’s Company.

Last year, Keisha premiered her solo show, Man on the Moon, to sell-out audiences in Manchester. The show went on to receive the Manchester Theatre Award for best studio production. Whilst writing the play she developed a collection of associated poems. The play and poems use mathematical and scientific references to explore the Black British experience, masculinity and mental health all through the lens of Keisha’s relationship with her father.

Having already been published in collections by Suitcase Press and Peepal Tree Press, Lunar poignantly frames the emotive work and compelling story of Keisha’s relationship with her dad.
