They say everyone has a book in them… but how to do you get your book off your desk and into the hands of the right publisher? In this workshop, Fran Cooper guides budding authors through the process of sending out a debut novel – from picking an agent, to writing a synopsis, to making sure you don’t sound crazy in a cover letter. Bringing together tried-and-tested advice, plus broader creative writing tips and techniques, this workshop is a must for anyone plucking up the courage to send their manuscript out into the world.
Fran Cooper grew up in London. She spent three years in Paris, where she found the inspiration for her first novel, These Dividing Walls, which is set in a Parisian apartment building over the course of a hot and politically turbulent summer. Her recently published second novel, The Two Houses, tells the story of a house so haunted that it was cut in two, and a ceramicist who decides to live there.
