Early birds go!! 25% off tickets

Tickets are now on sale, so get yours early and save money this month.

All festival shows priced over £5 will be available with an Early Bird discount of 25% until 4pm on Monday, 27 August 2018. You can also book and collect tickets in person from Touchstones Arts and Heritage Centre in Rochdale.

This year there are over 35 events in 15 venues from Monday, 15 October 2018 to Monday, 22 October 2018 during the festival organised by Rochdale Borough Council, plus preview events earlier in October.

Gervase Phinn.

Shows announced this week include comedian, author and poet Gervase Phinn, best known for his warm-hearted reminisces of his life as a school inspector in the Yorkshire Dales. The award-winning bestselling author Harry Sidebottom will be talking about his latest novel The Last Hour – a gripping thriller set in Rome and the Mad Theatre Company will present their latest play – an irreverent and heart-warming look back at what life was probably like in the North West a hundred years ago. Plus an assistant BBC producer will be providing tips on getting your script commissioned for television or radio in a ‘BBC Writersroom’ event.

The festival also features the previously announced poet Simon Armitage CBE, television presenter and triathlete Louise Minchin, actress, author and presenter Baroness Floella Benjamin OBE and women’s rights activist Dr Helen Pankhurst.

Councillor Janet Emsley cabinet member for neighbourhoods, community and culture at Rochdale Borough Council said:

“Last year over 3,000 people attended the festival and our Early Bird offer is always very popular, so once again we are encouraging people to book early, with hundreds of tickets reduced until 27 August. We have a packed programme – an amazing combination of international names, theatre, comedy, poetry, workshops and more.”
